Arrive individually at the idyllic southern shore of Lake Traunsee in Ebensee by car or public transport. During the winter season, the local mountain, Feuerkogel, showcases its high plateau with one of Austria's most diverse ski and winter hiking areas. Depending on your arrival time, visit the Ebenseer Kripperlroas (until early February), featuring 8 large landscape nativity scenes in private houses, the Catholic parish church, and the nativity exhibition at the Ebensee Museum. Nativity scene maps are available at the tourist office. Your travel documents will be provided at the hotel.
Take the winter shuttle to Feuerkogel valley station and ride the cable car to the high plateau. Enjoy the silence and vast white landscapes with 5 snowshoe trails and a taster trail, totaling approx. 25 km. Relish breathtaking views of Lake Traunsee and the Salzkammergut. After your snowshoe tour, stop at one of the mountain inns for a warming soup and a traditional Kaiserschmarren pancake (depending on opening times). Return to the valley via cable car and shuttle to the hotel.
Travel by train to Bad Ischl and store your bathing luggage. Explore the town, which became a European vacation destination in the 19th century with Emperor Franz Joseph's summer residence. Begin a circular hike around the local mountain, Jainzen, including an optional stop at the Hohenzoller waterfall.

Travel by Traunstein Taxi to Gasthof Kreh for a unique llama hike to Vorderer Langbathsee (approx. 2 h). Depending on your preference, walk around the lake for additional views. Lunch is served at Gasthof Kreh with homemade regional specialties (voucher provided). Return by taxi to the hotel and enjoy a relaxed afternoon.
Hike along the Traunreiterweg by Lake Hallstatt, following the historic route of the salt boatmen. After the hike, visit HAND.WERK.HAUS, a center for contemporary crafts with exhibitions and local products. Take a break at the traditional Maislinger coffee house for Austrian pastries and hot dishes. Optional: toboggan ride at Trockentann (approx. 40-min ascent, 300 m altitude).

Travel by train from Ebensee to Steeg-Gosau. Hike along the Ostuferwanderweg on Lake Hallstatt (approx. 8 km, 2–2.5 h, 35 m ascent/descent). Explore Hallstatt’s historic center and visit the Hallstatt Salt Mine with guided tour and Skywalk. Alternative (when closed): Dachstein Krippenstein Panorama Ticket for a relaxed winter snow tour. Return by ferry and train or taxi.

Our multi-activity holidays, whether kayaking and cycling in Croatia or canyoning and paddleboarding on Lake Garda, are generally designed to suit a reasonably active traveller rather than requiring elite fitness. Each activity can usually be adjusted in pace or difficulty, so let us know your fitness level and we'll advise accordingly.
No, most multi-activity packages are designed with beginners in mind for at least some elements, with instructors on hand to guide you through kayaking, cycling, canyoning or trekking as needed. You don't need prior experience in every discipline, just a willingness to give things a go.
Multi-activity holidays work well for groups, couples and solo travellers alike. Some departures are set up as small group experiences where you'll meet other like-minded travellers, while others can be arranged privately. Let us know your preference and we'll recommend the right format for you.
Age suitability depends on the specific activity and its intensity, canyoning and more technical watersports usually suit teens and adults, while kayaking and cycling can often be adapted for younger family members.
