The northern Italian city of Verona has long been a popular destination for a city break. Compact and intriguing, it’s easy to take it all in on foot. Highlights include the Roman arena (so well-preserved that it still holds regular concerts) and Juliet’s balcony. But the really fun part is losing yourself in its winding lanes, discovering imposing churches and tiny piazzas on the way. Verona has a buzzy nightlife. Here the pre-dinner aperitivo is an important business, make sure you partake. As with any Italian city you won’t have a hard time finding good food at reasonable prices as long as you stay away from the tourist traps. Leaving the city for the surrounding countryside, you soon come to one of the most important wine producing areas in Italy. The picture-perfect hillside vineyards and olive groves stretch all the way to the western shore of Lake Garda. Some of the country’s most famous red wines come from the Verona hinterland, from fresh, light Valpolicella to rich, full bodied Amarone. Soave, a dry white is also produced here.

Day 2Valpolicella Classica and its wines – 50 km / 400 m

In this route you’ll explore the classic area of production of Valpolicella wine. You’ll leave the city behind cycling on a beautiful
bike path, then we head towards the hills of Valpolicella. You’ll follow country roads through the vineyards, passing close to ancient rural house and elegant Venetian Villas: some of them are nowadays prestigious wineries and the visit of one of them is a great wine and cultural experience. Let’s stop and take a sip!
You’ll then cycle back to Verona flanking beautiful hills and the classic Valpolicella terraces, finally heading back to the city centre following the river Adige.
Overnight in Verona.

Day 3

You’ll cross the city centre and follow country roads that flank small streams of clear water, until you get to the green valleys in the Eastern side of Verona. In order to look for the best panoramic spots and to avoid bigger roads, you’ll climb the green hills around Verona. Let’s discover here the fresh Soave wine at a small winery in the countryside! After the tasting, let’s ride back to Verona.
Overnight in Verona.

Day 4

The itinerary goes West along a safe bike path that leads you to the countryside, cultivated with large fields of peach and kiwi trees.
The route gains altitude and reaches the hills from where you can enjoy beautiful views over Valpolicella and the mountains. You’ll
reach Lake Garda and the villages of Bardolino and Lazise.
Once you leave the lake shore, stop at a winery to taste the local Bardolino wine.
Overnight in Verona.

Day 5

Breakfast, check out and end of the services. Arrivederci!
